Welcome to the website of Ensemble Pro Victoria; British solo voice early music ensemble.

Founded at the University of Cambridge in 2015 by Humphrey Thompson and Toby Ward, EPV specialise in the music of the Spanish Golden Age, and the music of the Tudor partbooks performed in choirbook formation.

Recently awarded joint-first prize in the London International Early Music Festival Ensemble Competition, EPV are building a reputation for visceral, historically-informed performances delivered by some of the the best British consort singers under 30.

Frequently premiering reconstructions and championing lost or underperformed works, Ensemble Pro Victoria are proud to be associated with the AHRC Tudor Partbooks research project, led by Professor Magnus Williamson, academic adviser to the ensemble.

2021 sees the Robert Fayrfax quincentenary, and EPV's year long #Fayrfax500 project can read about here, including a film-recital with the Tudor Partbooks project and Newcastle University, a CD of Fayrfax's greatest sacred and secular works with Delphian Records, and Fayrfax at the London International Early Music Festival.

Through this website you can read about our former projects, listen to and download our recent recordings, and get in touch with us about an upcoming project or concert. We'd love to hear from you!
